Black Hills Industrial Center Receives Quest Site Solutions Industrial Park Certification

Black Hills Industrial Center has officially completed the Quest Site Solutions Site Certification Program, further solidifying the development’s position as a premier industrial and commercial growth hub in western South Dakota.

Located in Rapid City, the Black Hills Industrial Center was certified by Quest Site Solutions after an extensive evaluation process that confirmed the property meets rigorous standards for industrial development readiness. The certification recognizes the park as development-ready and competitive for future industrial investment opportunities.

The Black Hills Industrial Center is in the southern portion of Rapid City, east of South Dakota Highway 79 and approximately 10 miles from Interstate 90. The site is strategically positioned near existing industrial and commercial operations and offers strong access to transportation, utilities, and future expansion opportunities.

Quest Site Solutions’ certification program evaluates industrial sites and industrial parks based on a wide range of criteria essential for modern industrial development. The certification confirms the Black Hills Industrial Center meets standards related to:

• Industrial zoning compatibility

• Transportation and truck access

• Utility infrastructure capacity

• Telecommunications and fiber availability

• Environmental readiness

• Floodplain considerations

• Soil compatibility

• Development-ready acreage

• Long-term availability for industrial users

To receive certification, the industrial park demonstrated the ability to support critical infrastructure needs, including industrial-scale electric service, natural gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications capabilities within established development timelines.

The certification also verifies that the site offers significant contiguous developable acreage suitable for large-scale industrial users, logistics operations, warehousing, manufacturing, and technology-focused development.
